TexoModo

Privacy Policy

Effective October 20, 2026

TexoModo is a review tool that a website owner adds to their site so that invited reviewers can sign in with Google and leave comments on the pages. This policy explains what information TexoModo handles when you use it, where that information is stored, who can see it, and how to have it corrected or removed. TexoModo is operated by Agathe Battestini ("we", "us").

Who this applies to

This policy covers texomodo.com and the Review Mode overlay that runs on websites using TexoModo. Each of those websites has its own owner and its own privacy practices for the rest of the site, including any analytics the owner runs. This policy covers only what TexoModo itself does.

What we collect

Visitors who never click the review button share nothing with TexoModo. The page loads one small script that adds a button and makes no network request until the button is clicked.

When you sign in with Google, we receive your email address, your name and your profile picture from your Google account, together with an identifier Google assigns to the sign-in. We ask for no other Google data and no access to your Gmail, Drive, Calendar or contacts. We use your email address only to check it against the reviewer list for that website and to label your comments; we use your name and picture only to show who wrote a comment.

When you leave a comment, we store the comment text and replies, the page address and title, the position on the page and the element the comment is attached to (its selector, a text excerpt and nearby HTML), a cropped screenshot of that part of the page, the size of your browser window and whether it is a touch device, the device frame you were using, your browser's user-agent string, and the version of the website you were looking at. Every change to a comment, including edits, verification, resolution and deletion of replies, is logged with the name of the account that made it.

Reviewer lists, meaning the email addresses and domains that a website owner has allowed to review their site, are added by that owner and stored by us so that the check can run.

Browser storage. After you sign in, your session is kept in your browser's local storage for the website you are reviewing so you stay signed in between pages. A few preferences, such as whether the comments panel is open and which device frame you chose, are kept the same way. TexoModo sets no advertising or tracking cookies, and texomodo.com runs no analytics.

Server logs. The websites and texomodo.com are served by Netlify, and the database and sign-in run on Supabase. Like any hosting provider, they record technical details of requests such as IP address, time and the page requested, under their own privacy policies.

How we use it

We do not sell your information, use it for advertising, or build profiles of you. We do not use it to train machine-learning models.

Google user data

TexoModo's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The only Google data we receive is your email address, name and profile picture through Google sign-in, and it is used solely for the purposes described on this page.

Who can see your information

Your comments, replies, screenshots and the names attached to them are visible to the other reviewers and maintainers of the same website, who are the people that website's owner has placed on its reviewer list. They are never public, and reviewers of one website cannot see another website's comments. Access is enforced by database rules, not only by the user interface.

We share information with the providers we rely on to run the service: Google (sign-in), Supabase (database, file storage and sign-in sessions) and Netlify (hosting). Each of them processes it on our behalf under their own terms. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

Where it is stored

Comments, screenshots, reviewer lists and sign-in records are stored in a Supabase project hosted in the United States. Netlify serves the websites from its global network.

How long we keep it

Comments and their history stay for as long as the website owner keeps the review project, since they document decisions about the site. A comment's author, or a maintainer of that website, can delete it at any time. Sign-in records remain while your account is on a reviewer list. When a website owner removes a reviewer or closes the project, that project's comments and the related records are deleted.

Your choices and rights

Children

TexoModo is a tool for people reviewing a website at its owner's invitation. It is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Security

Comments and files are protected by per-website access rules enforced in the database, transmitted over HTTPS, and accessible only to signed-in accounts on that website's reviewer list. Secret keys never reach the browser. No system is perfectly secure, and we will inform affected people if we learn of a breach involving their information.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will post the new version here with a new effective date. Material changes will also be mentioned in the comments panel the next time you sign in.
